The Three Little Pigs
Three little pigs build houses of straw, sticks and bricks, and a hungry Wolf blows the first two down. Only the strong brick house stands, and when the Wolf comes down the chimney, he lands in a pot of water and runs away for good.
Scene 1: Off to Seek Their Fortune
The Three Little Pigs. Once upon a time, there was an old mother pig with three little pigs. She did not have enough food for them all, so she sent them out to seek their fortune.
Scene 2: Straw, Sticks and Bricks
The first little pig met a man with a bundle of straw, and said: “Please, man, give me that straw to build me a house.” So the little pig built a house of straw. The second little pig met a man with a bundle of sticks, and built a house of sticks. The third little pig met a man with a load of bricks, and said: “Please, man, give me those bricks to build a house with.” So the man gave him the bricks, and he built his house with them.
Scene 3: Huff and Puff
Presently along came a Wolf. He knocked at the door of the straw house, and said: “Little pig, little pig, let me come in.” The little pig answered: “No, no, by the hair of my chinny chin chin.” The Wolf answered: “Then I’ll huff, and I’ll puff, and I’ll blow your house in.” So he huffed, and he puffed, and he blew the house in! But the little pig ran away as fast as he could, to his brother’s brick house.
Scene 4: The House of Sticks
Then the Wolf came to the house of sticks, and said: “Little pig, little pig, let me come in.” The second little pig answered: “No, no, by the hair of my chinny chin chin.” The Wolf said: “Then I’ll huff, and I’ll puff, and I’ll blow your house in.” He huffed, and he puffed, and he puffed, and he huffed, and at last he blew the house down. But the second little pig ran away to the brick house, too.
Scene 5: The House of Bricks
At last the Wolf came to the brick house. All three little pigs were safe inside. He said: “Little pig, little pig, let me come in.” The third little pig answered: “No, no, by the hair of my chinny chin chin.” The Wolf growled: “Then I’ll huff, and I’ll puff, and I’ll blow your house in.” Well, he huffed, and he puffed, and he huffed, and he puffed. But he could not get the house down.
Scene 6: Down the Chimney
Then the Wolf was very angry. He climbed onto the roof, to come down the chimney. But the little pig hung a big pot of water over a blazing fire. Just as the Wolf was coming down, the little pig took off the cover, and in fell the Wolf. Splash! The Wolf yelped, jumped back up the chimney, and ran far away. He never came back. And the three little pigs lived happily ever after, in the strong brick house. Work hard and build well, and you will be safe and sound.
Moral: Work hard and build well, and you will be safe and sound.
